Contacting the Base, Heyford Park

This web site is not directly associated with the base today. This web site has been created
as a tribute to the now inactive air base, RAF Upper Heyford. The web site is maintained as a hobby by
a private citizen living in the United States. This is not an official web site of the United
States Air Force (USAF), the United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE), the US Department Of
Defense (US DOD) or the Ministry Of Defense (MOD); nor is it affiliated with any government
agency. No portion of this web site should be construde as official statements of the
USAF, USAFE, the US DOD, or the MOD.

I am told that The Consortium has 'full jurisdiction' over everything at RAF UH, so there is

This web site has been created and is maintained by Duane Park, who was formerly stationed at
RAF Upper Heyford with the Tactical Air Command of the United States Air Forces in Europe.
Duane recieved training as a Security Specialist at the Air Force Security Police Acadamy,
which included Air Base Ground Defense and anti-terrorist threat training. Upon graduation,
he was assigned to the 20th Security Police Squadron at RAF Upper Heyford, England
from 1976 to 1978. He was responsibile for the
safeguard and protection of US government personnel and property, including forward strike
ordinance and their delivery systems. After completing his overseas tour, he was assigned to
the Strategic Air Command from 1978 to 1980 at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, USA.
Duane currently lives as a civilian the United States and has enjoyed a well-rounded
career in Computer Aided Drafting and Design working on the following projects:
- Abbott Laboratories Diagnostics Division - Producing engineering documentation of
automated biomedical diagnostic equipment
- Raytheon/E-Systems - Technical Illustrator of Special Mission Aircraft and Land Based
Naval Defense Systems
- Vari-Lite, Inc. - Pro/E solid modeling in the R&D engineering group, drafting and design
of high-end automated lighting equipment
- CapRock Communications/McLeod USA - CADD Manager providing direction for telecom drafting
and design of telecom plant facilities and long-haul fiber optic networks across the southwestern
United States
- The Stanley Works - Product Designer of professional grade industrial tools
Duane is currently employed at The Stanley Works as the Product Data Management Engineer,
providing product data and configuration management support to Stanley Design Plants across
the United States and Canada.
