"My father (listed on the Duty Roster) is Gilbert
Davis, LT. Col, (ret). Here's a photo of my dad, taken in
Oxford (where the family lived, and where I was born) while
stationed at UH. He's sitting on his BSA Ariel he was
driving at the time (1952), a single cylinder British
Thumper. The other shot was taken in Albuquerque New Mexico,
where dad lives. My brother bought a restored BSA Ariel
(identical motorcycle) and snapped the second photo of my
dad, 51 years later."

"This photo was taken at barn fire at Lower Heyford
when I was stationed at RAF Upper Heyford 1957-1960. I'm at
the extreme right of the photo. One of the British
FireFighters was named Dixon. Actually it was the second
barn fire we assisted in. We were the first to arrive at
that fire and very grateful to be relieved by the UK
firefighters. They knew how to fight barn fires."
John C Eliseo, Ex USAF SSgt Fire Fighter.

"1978 - Ken Bachman hand-feeds a McDonald's french fry
to a pigeon in Trafalgar Square, London. We had made a
special trip to Picadilly Circus to visit the first,
newly-opened McDonald's restaurant in London, for a
long-awaited taste of the good old USA. Note Big Ben is in
the center background."
Duane Park, 20th SPS, 1976 - 1978.

"The Hall" at North Aston and were taken in 1976 to
the best of my knowledge. I'm guessing it was similar to a
priory early in history as it has a connected chapel off to
the right and living quarters in the hall which were rented
to a few of my friends. The entry hall had a huge fireplace
in which a person could stand without bending over. There
were grown over tennis courts in the rear and a beautiful
garden in the front.

"A shot of a landmark in the field in Lower Heyford.
What is it? I could never determine its origin." -
Harold Messimer
"I can explain that ruin or so it would seem is called
a 'folly'. It was built as a view from the big house at
Rousham. I am sure if you were at Upper Heyford, you also
would be aware of the small village next to Lower Heyford
called Rousham. Many people would say that a long lost
love would wave to her admirer for their secret or rondavue
as forbidden lovers."
Patricia A. Stutzman
